In essence, the level of effectiveness and appropriateness of a specific sampling strategy depends on many factors. Noticing that there is a complex interaction of these factors, the best sampling strategy for a particular study is seldom obvious. Moreover, business research is unique and dynamic because it revolves around human behaviors that change from time to time. However, I examined two most important considerations before devising a sampling strategy for my study. Two Most Important ConsiderationsFirstly, it was pertinent to consider the level of precision and detail that I anticipated out of my study. Essentially, sampling strategies differ in their level of effectiveness in reducing errors that occur in the study be cause of biases. For example in my research where I had to interview various people, biases about to the selection of people to interview, their location among others variables. The amount of information to be generated from a research affects influences the choice of the sampling strategy because if detail is needed then fine statistical analysis will be needed. Thus, the level of desired detail influences the devising of a sampling strategy.Secondly, the time and resources available are core determinants of adopting a sampling strategy. Undoubtedly, conducting a study require time and funds to drive the process of data collection. In a study, involving a well- spread target population; transport costs to access the target population are incurred. In addition, the available time dictates how long a study takes. Thus, it influences the devising of a sampling strategy. The time available time for my study was limited, a situation that required a simpler sampling strategy.Source of th e Sampling StrategyIn the study, I obtained a sampling strategy from a textbook. The textbook highlights information in a systematic manner, thus it is more comprehensive than a reference, which only contains specific and condensed facts. Research requires preparation and reviewing the literature to understand the findings of previous studies, identify the challenges of methodologies, which helps in designing a prospective study.
